PARTICIPANT INFORMATION SHEET

You are being invited to take part in a research study. Before you decide if you want to take part it is important that you understand why the research is being done and what it involves. Please take time to read the following information. Ask me if you would like some more information, you will find my contact details at the bottom of this page.

Project Title

Validation of a database of contemporary artwork using subjective and behavioural measures.

What is the purpose of the study?

The purpose of the survey is to understand what makes a picture interesting. This study aims to generate a database of images that have been rated on a number of scales. The images will then be shown to participants in later studies. Each rating will be anonymous and it is important that you give your first impression of the picture and that you give an honest rating. Every rating is unique and there is no right or wrong answer.

All images are subject to copyright. Permission from the artists was gained for the use of their work in this study. A full list of accreditation will be given at the end of the survey.
